Ambow Named a 2009 Outstanding Employer in China
Recently, Fortune (China) magazine named Ambow Education Group to its 2009 list of “Outstanding Employers in China – the Best Companies to Work For” along with China Mobile, Tencent, Li Ning, and Orient Securities. Of the 20 companies on the list, Ambow is the only domestic education company.
Beginning in 2003, Fortune (China) and Watson Wyatt have collaborated every two years to survey and research China’s “Outstanding Employers”. The surveys have collected the input of over 6,000 employees and 400 companies to date to select companies who exhibit best practices in talent management and employee relations. In addition to these characteristics, “Outstanding Employers” must have clear strategic direction, provide meaningful work, foster effective communication, encourage and reward competiveness, and be client-focused.
“Especially during the economic crisis, being named an “Outstanding Employer” is not easy.” At the award presentation ceremony, Ambow’s Vice-President Ms. Jie Huihan shared Ambow’s HR experience and key takeaways with the other attendees. “Like any other rapidly developing entrepreneurial company, managing both the quality and quantity of our talent is a continual challenge.
