Ambow Partners with McGraw-Hill to Release the Dalian BPO Index

May 7, 2010, China’s leading education service provider, Ambow Education Group, with J.D. Power and Associates, a McGraw-Hill subsidiary and world famous market information services provider, announced its plan to release international standard software and a Service Outsourcing Readiness Index for Dalian.
 
During the day’s signing ceremony in Dalian’s Hi-Tech District, J.D. Power and Associates announced that it will, in partnership with Ambow Education Group, use the Service Outsourcing Readiness Index to help Dalian’s Hi-Tech District evaluate its competitiveness and maturity. Ambow Education Group will be responsible for developing the index’s Human Resources component. Promoting Dalian’s Hi-Tech District’s software and Service Outsourcing Readiness Index will help it make progress in developing complete business process outsourcing (BPO) services and raise its international competitiveness.
 
This Service Outsourcing Readiness Index research project will rate Dalian’s near thousand software and service outsourcing companies on financial performance, customer satisfaction, operating environment, human resources, and other factors to create an integrated, overall evaluation and testing system The results of the research will be used to discern Dalian’s current competitive advantages, and simultaneously prioritize sectors and measures for improvement.
 
J.D. Power and Associates Asia Pacific Research Service General Manager, Dr. Mei Song Lin says “Leveraging a third party, independent research institution’s competitive strength evaluation, this is a pioneering move in China. The introduction of this index will push the entire service outsourcing industry in China to actively develop continual evaluations, and continuously strengthen core competitiveness.”
 
McGraw-Hill Education is one of the world’s largest providers of education solutions. Its Vice President of China General Manager Ms. Zhang Yan said at the signing ceremony, “McGraw-Hill Group’s subsidiary J.D. Power’s union with Ambow Education Group and Dalian’s Hi-Tech District to conduct service outsourcing readiness index research will promote the development of service outsourcing in China’s relevant cities, which will also push the entire service outsourcing industry in China to actively develop continual evaluations, and continuously strengthen core competitiveness, which will in turn increase the service outsourcing center’s international competitiveness.”

The popularization of this index under this type of united standard will provide a foundation for international companies who outsource services as well as outsourcing service providers, and will allow more companies to realize the potential of China’s service outsourcing industry. This trend will push forward the overall usefulness and development of the service outsourcing industry.”
 
Dalian City’s Standing Committee Deputy Mayor Dai Yulin attended the ceremony and stressed that, “Dalian’s Hi-Tech District Service Outsourcing Readiness Index research project agreement contract will help make Dalian a more international global software and service outsourcing city. It is also a new starting point to accelerate the development of Dalian’s service outsourcing industry.”
 
Dalian’s High-Tech District’s Party Work Committee board of directors Chairman, Luan Qingwei, said at the signing ceremony, “Having such powerful corporations working on an integrated evaluation system for Dalian’s outsourcing readiness, is a direct result of listening to the voices of members of both the domestic and international service outsourcing industry. By using such an international evaluation standard, Dalian will become a first-class, international service outsourcing center.”
 
Dalian’s Hi-Tech District is the core of Dalian’s software and service outsourcing industry, and is the domestic software industry’s most consolidated and most international center. Presently, 80,000 software and service outsourcing personnel, over 620 software and service outsourcing enterprises, among which 52 are in the global Fortune 500, 11 companies with more than 1,000 employees, and China’s top three software service outsourcing exporters are all located in Dalian. In recent years, the software service outsourcing industry has grown swiftly at a rate of 40%. In this year’s first quarter, the software service outsourcing industry’s revenue was 10.6 billion RMB, an increase of 44.2% over the corresponding period, and export revenue was USD 330 million, an increase of 41.6% over the corresponding period.
